Last Friday, April 25, Jefferson Elementary students were drawn outside by a throaty roar echoing across campus. They knew something special was happening as they made their way to the back playground.
Around the corner came the source of the excitement — members of the Highway Ministry Bike Club, arriving on motorcycles with a very special delivery for our Jefferson Tigers.
After parking their bikes, the riders popped open a shiny red trailer and began unloading colorful boxes. Eager students helped carry the boxes back to their groups, buzzing with curiosity. As the wrapping paper was ripped away, shouts of excitement filled the air: inside were copies of "The Mouse and the Motorcycle" by beloved author Beverly Cleary, the next campus-wide read.
Pages were soon turning as young readers dove into the story, eager to find out what adventures awaited. Their imaginations were sparked even further by Mrs. Holliday, who arrived dressed as a mouse — helping students picture just what a mouse on a motorcycle might look like!
It was a delivery full of excitement, laughter, and the promise of new adventures through reading, made unforgettable by the special delivery from our friends at the Highway Ministry Bike Club.
