Last month, six of Mrs. Dorman’s Cherokee language students earned honors in the Johnson O’Malley (JOM) Creative Writing Competition. With over 150 entries submitted, Pryor students stood out among a highly competitive field.
The writing competition is designed to challenge students to become effective writers through the lens of Native American heritage. Participants submitted original works of fiction, nonfiction, or poetry that reflected contemporary or historical aspects of family and community history, culture, language, or government.
