On January 9, Superintendent Dr. Muller welcomed the Mayes County LEAD team to the Pryor Board Room for their monthly meeting. This gathering brought together community leaders from the school district, city government, and local organizations to provide updates, share progress, and discuss future initiatives.
Superintendent's Presentation
Dr. Lisa Muller was among the community leaders who spoke at the event. She delivered a presentation about the district's ongoing achievements and plans. Her updates included:
Academic Growth : Math and reading scores show significant upward movement.
State Testing: Rising ACT scores and other indicators of student success.
Future Goals: A vision for continued growth and excellence in the district.
Laura Holloway, Tiger PRIDE Afterschool Program Director, outlined the afterschool program for the audience. Assistant Director and Mayes County LEAD alumna Katy Moore shared insights into the impact of their program. They emphasized the role of community involvement in:
Social-Emotional Development: Helping students build resilience and interpersonal skills.
Career Pathways: Providing students with exposure to potential career opportunities.
Parental Support: Offering a safe and engaging environment for children after school.
Holloway and Moore detailed the scope of Tiger PRIDE’s offerings:
Over 20 clubs at the elementary level
12 clubs at the middle school level
3 clubs at the high school level
The program creates unique opportunities for students to explore interests and skills they might not otherwise encounter. Holloway and Moore also expressed gratitude to the businesses, organizations, and community members whose support has been instrumental in the program's success.
City Updates from Mayor Doyle
Pryor Mayor Doyle was also among the community leaders who spoke, providing a report on recent and upcoming community events. He highlighted the success of past gatherings that foster community spirit and detailed plans for projects to enhance Pryor residents' quality of life.
