Laser Logo on Sugar Cookies
Students can always find a way to showcase their creativity at the PHS Innovation Center. On August 1 the manufacturing class laser engraved the Batman, RSU, and Innovation Center logo on their cookies. Just one of the examples of the fun creative ways the Innovation Center prepares the student for their careers.

Pryor students can attend the Innovation Center at Rogers State University. This new opportunity for Pryor students stems from the partnership between Pryor High School and Rogers State University.
“This partnership is the first of its kind in Oklahoma,” Dr. Lisa Muller, Pryor Public Schools superintendent, said. “Placing a high school innovation center on a university campus allows our students to make the most of their concurrent enrollment while significantly decreasing their college debt and preparing them for many future employment opportunities in northeast Oklahoma.”
“Establishing a high school innovation center on a university campus streamlines the educational experience for our students and allows them the opportunity to make the most of their concurrent enrollment,” noted Dr. Muller.
Beginning their junior year, students at Pryor High School will be able to choose an accelerated pathway to earn credits towards earning a college degree. Students will earn high school and college credit at the same time, potentially earning up to an entire year of college course work before high school graduation.
“This partnership fits perfectly into the university’s mission to provide a more highly educated workforce, enhance the economic development of the region and increase the quality of life for the residents of Mayes County and all of northeast Oklahoma,” said Dr. Larry Rice, RSU president.
The Pryor High School Innovation Center is housed at the RSU Pryor Campus in the MidAmerica Industrial Park. The center is home to the following Pryor High School courses:
- Esports program
- Tech Lab
- Manufacturing I and II,
- SREB Honors Applied Engineering, and
- Robotics
- EMT
The partnership with RSU allows Pryor students to choose dual credit
opportunities taught by Pryor High School instructors:
- College Algebra
- Computer Science
- English Composition I and II
- Spanish
- German
- Accounting I & II
- Business Communications
College Algebra and English Composition I and II is offered at both the High School Campus and the Innovation Center to create more flexibility in scheduling for students.
The new PPS transportation center provides a shuttle service for students attending classes at the Innovation Center. “This is a great opportunity for all students who in the past haven’t been able to attend college classes due to transportation issues,” said PHS Principal, JR Winton.
