INNOVATION CENTER PROGRAMS

Vex

VEX Robotics is a popular educational robotics program designed to spark interest in STEM fields. Students learn to design, build, and program robots to complete specific tasks or compete in challenges. Through hands-on experience, they develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. VEX Robotics also provides opportunities for students to participate in competitions, showcasing their engineering and programming abilities.

FTC

The First Tech Challenge (FTC) is a robotics competition for students in grades 7-12. Teams of up to 15 students design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in head-to-head challenges. Students learn programming, engineering, and problem-solving skills while collaborating with teammates and mentors. FTC emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and community outreach, preparing students for future STEM careers.

CODE HS

CodeHS offers a comprehensive computer science pathway that guides students from introductory concepts to advanced programming skills. The pathway typically starts with block-based programming to introduce fundamental concepts like variables, loops, and conditionals. As students progress, they transition to text-based programming languages like Python and Java. The Innovation Center also offers specialized pathways for students interested in specific areas, such as AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles.

Fusion

This is an engineering focused drafting course utilizing Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software that develops computer skills and electronic skills and applications within engineering applications of drafting within manufacturing. Topics covered are advanced computer operations, CAD application software, and principles of structural drafting, process pipe drawings, electronic/electrical drafting and civil drafting.

Tango Flight

Pryor High School offers Aviation I, II, and III courses. Students can advance to Aviation IV at the Innovation Center, where they can build an RV-12 sport plane or participate in drone racing. These courses introduce students to aerospace, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and design engineering concepts. Students delve into aircraft fundamentals, avionics, maintenance, inspection, and structure assembly.

EMS

Whether you aspire to be an EMS professional, firefighter, nurse, or physician, mastering basic life support and its underlying pathophysiology is crucial. This foundational knowledge is essential for saving lives in emergency settings, from the streets to the intensive care unit. If your goal is a career in healthcare, this course will provide the necessary guidance and a solid foundation for your future. It's designed for students considering careers as CNAs, LPNs, RNs, EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, police officers, or physicians.

VR

This course will introduce you to Virtual Reality (VR).  Explore the cutting-edge world of virtual reality by building interactive experiences in a dedicated coding environment. XR Blocksmith is a cutting-edge VR platform that empowers users to create immersive 3D experiences. By combining block-based coding with virtual reality, it provides an engaging way to learn programming concepts. Users can design games, virtual worlds, and interactive stories, all while immersed in a 3D environment. This hands-on approach fosters creativity, problem-solving, and a deeper understanding of computer science principles.

OESL

Students will participate in a competitive ESports league.  Students will learn strategy, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills.  In addition, students will learn about careers related to ESports and video game development.  Students will compete at team locations and through on-line tournaments. Students must be in good standing, and meet eligibility guidelines.
