What We Do

At Tiger Pride our goal is to help our Pryor Elementary students in the development of their character through educational and recreational activities. We are providing a fun, supportive environment for our students to gain not only academically, but socially, as well.  Our daily activities include a healthy snack, academics, homework help, and club activities, based on the specific club. 

 

 

When We Do It

Tiger PRIDE will be held each Monday, Tuesday, and thursday (when school is in sessio). Session 2 will run from November 1 through December 15, 2022.  We begin clubs at 3:30 pm tnad end at 5:30 pm. Please be aware that learners may be bussed to different sites to attend cubs.  Students picked up early must be signed out at the club site. Positive behavior is expected.  Improper conduct can lead to removal from clubs.

Jefferson Elementary Club Descriptions

  • Come join the fun
    as we learn the basics of sewing
    on a machine and learn how to
    make projects, such as aprons,
    pillowcases, tote bags, or even a
    small quilt. This is a great
    opportunity to create a gift for
    someone special. At Roosevelt; 4
    learners per site.

  • Do you love STEM or
    tinker toys? Come build with us!
    We have wooden planks, wheels,
    pulleys, nuts and bolts, and
    ropes designed to engage the
    inquisitive minds. At Lincoln
    STEM lab; 5 learners per site.

  • (5th grade
    only); “Christmas in the Land of
    Oz”; The Wicked Witch of the
    West becomes the grinch of this
    delightful holiday play when she
    steals Christmas from Munchkin
    Land.; At Roosevelt; 4 learners
    per site.

  • Soccer
    outdoors no matter how cold, or
    hot this club will be outdoors,
    unless there is lightning or ice on
    the ground. Come play the game
    you love! At Roosevelt; 6 Jefferson learners.

Pryor Middle School Club Descriptions

  • Learn some Spanish basics through songs, art and games. Topics include greeting, numbers, colors, animals, sports, and food. Learners will make and bring home some authentic Spanish crafts.

  • Christmas in the Land of Oz “The Wicked Witch of the West becomes the Grinch of this delightful holiday play when she steals Christmas from the “Munchkinland.”

  • Learners get the chance to learn and play different types of E-sports. They will practice teamwork and compete in small tournaments. This club includes such as Rocket League, League of Legends, and Smash Brothers.   

  • Learn and play the tabletop role-playing game of Dungeons and Dragons. This club encourages teamwork, problem solving and creative thinking skills as learners play and create a story together. 

  • This club is a beginner ceramic class, starting with the basics of building pinch pots, slabs and coil building techniques. Learners will create small animal sculptures, while learning the history of ceramics, the components of clay and different firing techniques.

  • Learners will design, build and program robots to compete. Learners will develop technical skills in competition aided design, computer programming 3D printing. 

  • This club is for aspiring journalists and/or YouTubers; those that love current events, and even those that just love to talk. In Tiger Talks, we will be creating a YouTube channel to feature video podcasts over many different topics.  

  • Have you ever watched a reporter delivering the news on TV and thought, “I want to do that?” Or, perhaps you would enjoy working behind the scenes, setting up and operating cameras, running the computer, or writing a script. Come be a part of the Tiger Broadcasting team located at the High school. 

  • Begin learning how to write and apply lyrics to song writing, while working with other students, to create songs and demos. Get familiarized with instruments used heavily by songwriters, and be encouraged to identify your creative path within the music industry.
