Voted to approve the resignation of Jennifer Western – LECC Special Education Teacher 

Voted to approve the hiring the following Classified Personnel on a Temporary Contract for the 2023-2024 school year: Gayla DaCosta- High School Paraprofessional, Megan Roling- Jefferson Computer Aide. 

Voted to approve hiring staff for the Tiger Pride After School Program as presented. 

Voted to approve extra duty, one time incentive pay, and salary adjustments as submitted for the 2023-2024 school year. 

Voted to approve sanctioning of Booster Clubs and Parent Organizations in accordance with Board Policy and Oklahoma law. 

Voted to approve authorizing the superintendent to submit a Letter of Intent to Apply for the opioid abatement grant program under the Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board. 

Discussion of Tiger Tenets Annual Action Plan and Metrics. 

Voted to approve Annual Election Resolution to County Election Board and Election Publication. 

Superintendent's Report

The following high school choir students auditioned, and made, the NCDA All-District Honor  Choir this year.

The Pride of Pryor has had an exceptionally successful season so far this year. On September 30th, the band performed the show titled "Golden" at Oologah's Stallion Battalion Marching Invitational. The band placed 2nd in class 5A Gold, and also earned 3rd place color guard in class 5A and 3rd place percussion in class 5A. In preliminary competition, the Pride scored as one of the top 12 bands out of the 23 bands competing. The top 12 bands advanced to finals where the band placed 7th overall.  

The following weekend, the Pride performed at the Bixby Tournament of Bands. Here the band  placed 1st in class 5A, and also earned first place percussion in class 5A and was also the highest  General Effect score of the 5A bands. In finals competition, the Pride again earned 7th place  among a very talented pool of outstanding bands. On October 22, the band qualified for finals in  the OBA 5A state championship for the first time in its history and placed 9th among tough  competition. 

Congratulations to the Pryor softball team for their regional championship and qualification for  the state tournament! In addition, multiple players were named to the All District Team: 

Brooklynn Stohler - Pitcher of the Year 

Adriana Donnelly - Second Base 

Akiya Tsosie - Outfielder 

Kenzi Bennett - Utility 

Arystan Buchanan - Honorable Mention 

Kayda Wolfe - Honorable Mention 

Big Congratulations to Brooklynn Stohler for also being named to the 2023 All-State Team.  Brooklynn had a total of 1094 strikeouts in 683 innings in her high school career. 

Cherokee Language students from Pryor HIgh School placed second out of fourteen teams in a  recent Cherokee Challenge Bowl event at Greasey Immersion School.

Congratulations to Kynleigh Brewer for her selection to the All State Cheer Team and to Mia  Fell for being named to the All Region dance team. 

Watch for a new “Focus on the Core” program on social media. The district will be highlighting  our Core Values, with the first area of focus in November being “Respect.” Future focus topics  will be “Commitment” in January, “Communication” in March, and “Trust” in May.

(3) Considering the appeal of denied student transfers with a review of confidential educational records and transfer requests of students whereby disclosure of any additional information could potentially violate FERPA, pursuant to Okla. Stat. tit.25 § 307(B)(7).

Voted to approve proposal to rename the Pryor High School South Band Room as the "Roy Jackson Band Hall" in honor of retired band director, Roy Jackson.
